There are so many actors that have unique voices, especially if they have raspy voices.

Sometimes, this different type of voice can lend so much character to the roles that they are playing. Other times… not so much.

Below, we’ve ranked 10 unique actors who have raspy voices.

You’ve more than likely heard of many of these actors, but there might be a few that surprise you!

1. Clint Eastwood

Let’s start with a classic Hollywood actor: Clint Eastwood! This actor, who has had a decades-long career and is still making movies, has long had one of the most interesting voices in film because of his raspy voice.

When filming some of his iconic westerns, such as The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, this raspy voice has surely come in handy quite often. Even in those films where he doesn’t seem to say a lot! And as he got older and starred as older characters, his raspy voice only continued to be interesting!

2. Al Pacino

Al Pacino is another great, iconic actor with a rather interesting raspy voice. There’s no doubt that his voice has helped his characters become rather remarkable ones. Just look at his roles in The Godfather, Serpico, and more.

Much like Clint Eastwood, Pacino’s raspy voice has only helped him as he’s gotten older and taken on more roles of elders. He’s one of the best actors of his generation with a marvelous voice!

3. Eliza Dushku

Eliza Dushku is another actor with a raspy voice who you’ve likely seen somewhere. She’s been in quite a lot, after all! While she has starred in many wonderful movies and TV shows, she’s likely best remembered for her role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Dushku’s voice has likely helped her career, as she’s best known for playing tough characters who don’t take any nonsense. A raspy voice tends to help fit that overall “type” of character!

4. Emma Stone

Emma Stone’s raspy voice is definitely unique. Since she began to star in films in the 2000s, fans have noticed what an interesting voice she has for one so young. And she definitely has a voice not often heard in the movies!

This may have helped her land roles, though it certainly has helped her characters become memorable. Whether she’s starring in quirky romantic comedies like Easy A or in more dramatic films like La La Land, Stone has proved that she (and her voice!) can create memorable characters.

5. Jaime Pressly

Jaime Pressly is perhaps one of the most interesting actors on this list, as she’s definitely put her raspy voice to good use in all the characters she’s played. She’s best remembered for her role in My Name is Earl, where she used her unique voice beautifully.

However, Pressly’s recent career and all the interesting characters she’s played are only heightened by the raspiness of her voice. Her character in Mom definitely comes to mind when thinking of this!

6. Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is another actor with a raspy voice who began her career quite young. Lohan has charmed audiences with her performances since the late 1990s. The films she starred in as a child, such as The Parent Trap, remain her most memorable.

Lohan has had a rather interesting career. While she took a break from acting, she is in the process of making a comeback — and we’re sure her unique voice will help charm audiences!

7. Lucille Ball

Who doesn’t love Lucy? Lucille Ball, best known for her role as Lucy Ricardo in the iconic show I Love Lucy, has one of the great classic raspy voices. Her voice definitely got raspier as she got older, likely because she often smoked.

Ball’s raspy voice is definitely memorable, especially if you’re a fan who grew up watching I Love Lucy or one of her later shows. However, her raspy voice likely also helped her career in the beginning when she starred in 1940s film noirs!

8. Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has one of the most interesting voices of her generation. While her raspy voice helped her shine as a child star on Disney Channel, her voice has seemingly become even raspier in the past few years after she underwent vocal surgery.

While Cyrus has acted in the past, she mainly focuses on her music career today. However, she does still pop up in movies and television shows or specials. Her raspy voice will likely continue to help her shine in the future!

9. Scarlett Johansson

Ah, Scar-Jo. One of the best actors currently in the business! Since her career began in the 1990s, she’s always had something of a raspy voice, though many fans didn’t begin to really notice it until she began to star in movies in the 2000s.

She definitely has a unique voice, and many may not even realize how raspy it is. However, her raspy voice may have helped her get into character in the past, whether she was playing Black Widow in the Marvel films or starring in more indie movies, such as Lost in Translation.

10. Will Arnett

You’ve more than likely heard Will Arnett’s raspy voice somewhere. While his film career began in the late 1990s, his career didn’t really begin to pick up until the 2000s. Since then, he’s starred in a number of films and television shows, both live-action and animated.

His raspy voice is definitely memorable — and he has voiced some iconic characters as a result. While Arnett may be best remembered for his role in Arrested Development, his voice acting in BoJack Horseman and as Batman in the Lego movie franchise is also notable.
