Coming to America
This is one of those light-hearted, fun sort of comedies and the best part is that it stars Eddie Murphy as the lead. In the movie, Eddie plays the role of an African prince called Akeem who travels to the United States but no one knows him there. He travels in search of a wife for himself and he finds himself traveling to Queens since he thinks his chances would be great there. The movie is definitely the kind that you can watch with your family over the weekend for a family movie night.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
The movie that started it all and plummeted us into the magical world of Harry Potter. Watching Sorcerer’s Stone actually takes us back to 2001 when most of us used to be kids and saw Harry Potter on the big screen for the first time. All of us wished to be wizards and witches and somehow wanted a wand that would let us do magic too! So if you really want that kick of nostalgia, you could always watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone because there’s nothing better than a good old Harry Potter marathon.
There comes a time when you feel like a misfit but then you find that one person (even if it isn’t romantic) who turns your entire world around by how much they love you. That is exactly what happens in Matilda who is a gifted little girl with amazing telepathic powers. The movie is most certainly a beautiful movie and you should definitely watch this one with your family too. It would make your heart explode with love and happiness towards the end of the movie.
This too is a pretty interesting comedy movie which you can watch with your family too. The movie is about a lounge singer called Whoopi Goldberg who has to go into hiding after she witnesses her boyfriend commit a murder because he is a mobster. She hides in a convent and has to pose as a Nun. However, since she is a singer she notices that the choir in the convent is nearly dead and she works super hard to make sure that the choir does its best. Eventually, she fits into the environment and makes good friends with the other nuns.
The Pursuit of Happyness
Everyone has obviously seen this movie at some point in life and nothing is more motivating than this movie. It is a true story about a man called Chris Gardner who hits rock bottom, his wife leaves him and he has to live on the streets with his infant son (played by Will Smith’s own son, Jaden Smith). The movie shows how Chris grows as a person and never gives up until he finally lands on his feet and goes on to become a very successful person down the line.
The movie teaches you that every cloud has a silver lining and that you should never give up no matter how difficult times may get.

Speaking of every cloud has a silver lining, that is the main theme of Stuart Little 2, who also feels like he is a misfit in his family because of him being a mouse. However, the Littles try their best to make Stuart feel at home and Stuart actually finds a love interest in the movie, a little bird called Margo. The movie is a perfect pick to watch with your family to really show them the power that a family holds, a power that is formed only through love.
