In the Season 7 finale of “The Walking Dead,” it was Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, who carried an axe. The axe was notably used in a tense scene where the antagonist, Negan, threatened to force Rick to use it on his own son, Carl.
This was one of the many psychological tactics Negan employed to try and break Rick’s spirit and assert his dominance over the group.
