Jeff Watson, the former guitarist of the band Night Ranger, recently underwent brain surgery. At 65 years old, Watson, a co-founding member of Night Ranger, has been away from the group since 2007. He shared details of his surgery in a social media post, revealing that he spent two weeks in the ICU following a procedure that involved drilling holes through his skull to insert a drain pipe. This was necessary to remove blood accumulating in his brain cavity. Furthermore, Watson underwent another surgery to stop an artery from leaking into his cranial cavity​​​​.

After these operations, Watson was discharged from the hospital. He is currently at home, focusing on regaining his strength. He mentioned the need for sleep and nutrition and acknowledged that his guitar skills were significantly affected by the procedures. Watson is now working on rebuilding his guitar-playing abilities and is practicing with a metronome to help regain his hand coordination and skill set​.
